What makes a good Islamic story for a 4 or 5 year old?
At four and five, children are learning who Allah is, why we say Bismillah and Alhamdulillah, and how to be kind to the people around them. The best stories for this age are short enough to finish in one sitting and give one clear lesson at a time: Allah made everything, Allah hears our dua, we share with our friends.
The games for this age practise the first Arabic letters and their sounds, counting and matching, with no timers and no scores, so a child can take their time. The audiobooks are gentle enough for bedtime, and many titles have a music-free version.
Every title listed here suits a child of 4 or 5, though some were made for a wider range of ages. Each page tells you how long the title takes and gives questions to talk about together afterwards.
Key lessons children take from these stories, games, audiobooks and videos
- Everyone feels scared sometimes, even a bird.
- Real heroes are brave and kind, and they help other people.
- Al Mujeeb means The One Who Answers Prayers, one of the Beautiful Names of Allah.
- Allah gave us five senses, and each one is a gift.
- Allah made each of His creatures just as they are.
- Showing mercy, even to someone we could harm, is a good deed.

Most take between 5 and 10 minutes, which suits a young child's attention. Each title's page gives its length.

Yes. The app has no ads, nothing to buy beyond the subscription and no chat, though young children often enjoy stories most with a parent beside them.
