A Tiger with No Stripes

A Tiger with No Stripes is a wordless animated film for children aged 4 to 9 about a little tiger, born without any stripes, who sets off on a long journey in search of them.

The little tiger lives in the long grass, but he is not like other tigers: his coat has no stripes at all. So he decides to go and look for them. His journey takes him a long way from home, across open plains under a huge sunset, through dark, rocky places and forests, across a hot and dusty land and on into the night, where glowing lights float in the dark. In the last scene, under an evening sky, the little tiger has stripes on his back.

There is no speech in the film. It is told in soft, painted pictures, so children follow the tiger's feelings through his face and the colours around him: warm and bright when he sets out, dark and quiet when he is tired and alone. It is a calm film, and a good one to watch together.

Afterwards, it opens a conversation about feeling different from others, about being patient and brave when a journey is long, and about how Allah made each of His creatures just as they are. The film lasts about 9 minutes.
