What is At-Talbiyah about?

At-Talbiyah is an Islamic video for children aged 4 to 9 that teaches the Talbiyah, the words Muslims say from the moment they enter ihram for Hajj or Umrah, the pilgrimage to Makkah, and what those words mean.

The Talbiyah begins "Labbayk Allahumma labbayk": here I am, O Allah, here I am at Your service. It goes on to say that Allah has no partner, and that all praise, all blessings and the kingdom belong to Him. Pilgrims say it again and again, out loud, on their way to Makkah, and it is one of the sounds of Hajj.

In the video, the meaning is said slowly and repeated several times, so children can take in each line and learn to say it themselves.

For children, the Talbiyah is a lovely first step towards understanding Hajj. Its message is simple: when Allah calls, we answer "Here I am". It shows that the pilgrims are ready to serve Allah and give themselves to Him. Children can say it at home too, especially in the days of Hajj and around Eid al-Adha, when millions of Muslims are saying the same words in Makkah.

The video is about 2 minutes long, music-free and a Miraj original.
