What is Allah Gave Me Two Ears to Hear about?

Allah Gave Me Two Ears to Hear is an Islamic audiobook for children aged 4 to 9, in rhyme, that follows a child through a day full of sounds and thanks Allah for the gift of hearing.

The day begins with the alarm clock's beep, beep, beep, and Daddy reciting the Qur'an, the book that brings good news and a warning. The child hears birds chirping as they praise Allah, autumn leaves rustling in the breeze, their own tummy rumbling, pots rattling as Mummy makes breakfast, and a little brother's feet running to the table. There is the kettle's whistle, the splash of waves at the beach, where every creature praises Allah with its own special sound, buzzing bees and the rumble of the lawnmower.

On the farm, the cow moos to her calf and the duck says quack. In the playground friends shout with joy, and a storm sends everyone running home. The child hears the daf in their nasheeds about loving Allah, and Daddy calling the adhan, and makes wudu to pray. There is a cat purring on the prayer mat, a brother's giggles, and Grandma's voice on the phone.

The day ends with the best sounds of all: parents saying they love their child, and Mummy's soft song at bedtime. The book is written by Amrana Arif. It takes about four minutes, is music-free, and is also one of the five books in the Allah Gave Me... Audio Collection.
