What is Sulayman and the Queen of Sheba about?

Sulayman and the Queen of Sheba is an Islamic audiobook for children aged 4 to 12 about a wise king who was also a prophet, a queen who worshipped the sun, and the curious little hoopoe who brought them together.

Allah has given King Sulayman (AS), the son of Prophet Dawud (AS), many gifts. He understands the speech of the beasts and birds, the jinn work for him and the wind obeys him. One day, as he inspects his armies of people, jinn, beasts and birds, one bird is missing: the hoopoe. She arrives late and out of breath, with news from the land of Sheba, where a wise and beautiful queen sits on a magnificent throne, and her people bow down to the sun.

Sulayman sends the hoopoe back with a letter that begins "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful." The queen consults her ministers and chooses friendship over war, sending a caravan of gifts. Sulayman sends it back: what Allah has given him is better. The queen decides to visit him herself. Before she arrives, a man with knowledge of the scriptures brings her throne to Sulayman in the twinkling of an eye. In a palace with a floor of clear glass that looks like water, the queen submits to Allah.

Read by Penelope Rawlins in five chapters, with lively voices for the hoopoe, the eagle and the queen's ministers, it is a Miraj original.
