What is My First Book About... Audio Collection about?
My First Book About... Audio Collection is an Islamic audiobook for children aged 4 to 9 that brings together six short books by Sara Khan, each a gentle first introduction to one part of Islam.
My First Book About the Qur'an begins with creation, then explains what Allah asks of us: to worship Him alone, to be good to our parents, neighbours, orphans and the needy, and to look after the world. It tells children that the Qur'an is the word of Allah, revealed in Arabic to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ over 23 years. My First Book About Allah introduces His Oneness, His power and mercy, His 99 beautiful names and His promise to those who believe. My First Book About Prophet Muhammad tells the Prophet's ﷺ story, from the first message in the cave of Hira and the hard years in Makkah to the welcome in Madinah.
My First Book About Ramadan explains fasting, Taraweeh, giving to the poor, Laylatul Qadr and Eid al-Fitr. My First Book About Salah starts with the Night Journey, when the prayer was given, and explains wudu, the parts of the prayer and why Muslims pray. My First Book About Hajj follows the pilgrims through each stage, from the ihram and the Kaaba to Arafat, Muzdalifah and Eid al-Adha.
Most of the books are read by Rania Kurdi, and the Salah book by Sarah Aga. Each takes only a few minutes, so children can hear one at a time, and together they last about 18 minutes. The collection is music-free.
