A Bedtime Prayer for Peace is an Islamic audiobook for children aged 4 to 9 in which a little boy named Esa and his Mama say a prayer for people all around the world before he goes to sleep.
The sun has set, but Esa does not want to go to bed. So Mama sits him with her on the chair, and they rock and sway and pray together. They ask for help for everyone in need: knowledge for children who want to read, shelter for families who need a home, and comfort for people who feel alone. They pray for peace in every land, for the sick to be healed, and for everyone to get along, because together we are strong.
Then they give thanks: for Grandma, Grandpa and Daddy, for the plants and trees that give us air to breathe, and for the sun that keeps us warm and gives us light. When Mama has tucked Esa in, turned off the light and kissed him good night, she raises her hands to the night sky and prays for her son.
