What is Arabic Letters Challenge about?
Arabic Letters Challenge is a learning game for children aged 4 to 12 that tests how well they know the letters of the Arabic alphabet.
The app describes it in a single line: test your knowledge of Arabic letters. The cover shows three letters on white tiles, ya, ba and ayn, between the words Arabic Letters and Challenge. It is a game for a child who has started to learn the letters and wants to see how many they know.
The Arabic alphabet has 28 letters, and it is written and read from right to left. Many letters share a shape and differ only in their dots: ba has one dot below, ta two dots above and tha three. Knowing the letters by sight and by name is the first step to reading Arabic, and to reading the Qur'an.
The challenge sits well beside Memory Game Arabic Letters, which teaches the shapes and names of the letters as children play. After playing, parents can ask their child to name the three letters on the cover, find them in a qaida or a copy of the Qur'an, and choose a new letter to learn each week.
Arabic Letters Challenge is a Miraj original.
