What is Arabic Letters Naughty & Nice Book 1 about?

Arabic Letters Naughty & Nice Book 1 is an interactive alphabet book for children aged 4 to 6 that introduces the first seven letters of the Arabic alphabet, from Alif to Khaa, as characters with personalities of their own.

The seven letters are Alif, Baa, Taa, Thaa, Jeem, Haa and Khaa, each drawn as it is written. The very first letter, Alif, is completely mad about football. He is quite well-behaved compared to his mischief-making friend Taa: be careful if you invite Taa to tea, because he seriously needs to learn some table manners. And as for Khaa, you will not always find him wide awake.

The book is a first meeting with the Arabic alphabet through story, animation and narration with authentic Arabic pronunciation. A tap of a small finger makes the letters wobble, jump, snore or roar, so a child hears each letter's sound while having fun with it. Nine letters of the Arabic alphabet have no matching sound in English, and the series shows those letters in red, so children know which sounds to listen to most carefully.

Some letters are naughty and some are nice. The series' makers point out that "naughty" letters are not their invention: trained teachers of Arabic call them that too. A naughty letter is an easy way into a talk about manners, such as what Taa does at the table and what he should do instead.

The animated Part 1 tells the same letters as a short video, so a child can read the book and then watch the letters again. Book 2 goes on from Daal. It is a Miraj original.
