Arabic Letters Naughty & Nice Book 4 - story cover

What is Arabic Letters Naughty & Nice Book 4 about?

Arabic Letters Naughty & Nice Book 4 is an interactive alphabet book for children aged 4 to 6 that introduces the final six letters of the Arabic alphabet, from Lam to Yaa, and completes the series.

The six letters are Lam, Meem, Noon, Haa, Waw and Yaa, each drawn as it is written. This Haa is a different letter from the Haa of Book 1, with a softer, breathier sound. Children watch Lam's lips change colour each time she licks her lollipop, and greedy Waw gobble up all the waffles at breakfast. Noon has a rather rude neighbour who cracks nuts late into the night, driving poor Noon mad. Haa gets upset when her hamster eats her masterpiece. And before saying goodbye to the letters, everyone should have a piece of Yaa's pie. Yummy, yummy, yum!

The letters come to life through story, animation and narration with authentic Arabic pronunciation. A tap of a small finger makes a letter wobble, jump, snore or roar, so children hear its sound as they play. Nine letters of the Arabic alphabet have no matching sound in English, and the series shows those letters in red, so children know which sounds to listen to most carefully.

With this book a child has met all 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet across the four books, from Alif to Yaa. Greedy Waw and Noon's noisy neighbour are an easy way into talking about sharing and about thinking of others.

The animated Part 4 tells the same letters as a short video, and Book 1 starts the alphabet again from Alif. It is a Miraj original.
