What is Juz by Juz: Prophet Hud about?
Juz by Juz: Prophet Hud is an Islamic video for children aged 4 to 9 in which Sheikh Azhari and his children tell two stories from the Qur'an: Prophet Hud (AS) and his people, and the jinn who heard the Qur'an and believed.
Many years after the flood of Prophet Nuh, Allah sent Prophet Hud to a people who lived among tall mountains and built huge castles. But they did one terrible thing: they did not worship Allah. Hud told them that if they asked Allah for forgiveness, He would give them more. They refused. The Sheikh tells how Allah then held back the rain from their land, and with no water the trees turned yellow. Then, one day, great clouds appeared in the sky, and the people thought the rain had come at last.
The Sheikh teaches the children the dua the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said when it rained: "Allahumma sayyiban nafi'an", O Allah, make it a beneficial rain.
The second story is about the jinn. Some of them used to go up towards the sky to listen to what was said there about the revelation, and mix it up. Then Allah guarded the sky with shooting stars. The jinn went looking for the reason, and found the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ reciting the Qur'an. They listened, and they became Muslims. The Sheikh's lesson: if the Qur'an can change the jinn, think what listening to it can do for us.
The children draw what they would need in a desert and something shiny in the sky, and answer a quiz about the angel in charge of the rain, the month of the Qur'an, the name of the Prophet's ﷺ father and Zamzam water.
