Who was Prophet Hud (AS)?
'Ad came after the people of Prophet Nuh (AS), and they were strong and proud. Hud told them to worship Allah alone and to ask His forgiveness, and promised that Allah would send them plenty of rain and add strength to their strength. They called him foolish and would not leave their idols. One day a great cloud came towards their valleys, and they said, "This is a cloud bringing us rain!" The Qur'an tells that it was not rain but a wind carrying the punishment they had asked for, and that Allah saved Hud and those who believed with him.
Surah Hud, the eleventh surah of the Qur'an, is named after him.
