What is Aya & Yusuf: Kind Words about?

Aya & Yusuf: Kind Words is an Islamic animated video for children aged 4 to 9 in which the twins Aya and Yusuf discover the power of kind words, and use them to help their animal friends on the farm.

The twins are stuck on their homework: a puzzle with one word left to find. What costs nothing but means everything, and can be given but never taken? They ask Baba for help, but he tells them they are resourceful and talented, and that they can find the answer themselves. He gives them one clue: a kind word is like a wholesome tree, with firm roots and branches that reach up to the sky.

So the twins go outside to think. Around the farm, they find friends who need encouragement. They praise a chicken for the clever idea of using a twig to reach an apple. They spend time with Jawad, a wise old horse. And they help Nunu the bunny, who feels different, to see that his pink nose, his big tooth and his mismatched eyes make him special.

Back inside, the twins realise that Baba was encouraging them with kind words all along, just as they encouraged their friends, and that a kind word, like a good tree, grows and makes more good things happen. They found the answer all on their own. The episode ends with the twins' bedtime prayer and the verse of the Qur'an that Baba's clue comes from. It is the first episode of the Aya & Yusuf series.
