What is Al Haadiy about?
Al Haadiy is an Islamic learning game for children aged 4 to 9 in which Uncle Asad, a retired lion from Africa, teaches them the name Al-Haadi, the Guide, one of the beautiful names of Allah.
Children join Uncle Asad on a short journey. They solve tricky puzzles, play games and listen to his story about a lost little bird. By the end of the journey, they know what Al-Haadi means.
Al-Haadi is the One who guides. He shows us the right way to go and helps us make good choices. A story about a bird who has lost her way makes the name easy for young children to understand: when we are lost, or we do not know what to do, we can ask Allah to guide us.
It is a good starting point for talking about what a child can do if they ever get lost, in a park, a shop or a crowd, and about asking Allah for help with any choice, big or small. Uncle Asad also tells a story about a lost little bird in the audiobook Storytime with Uncle Asad: Al Haadiy and in the video Al Haadiy: The Little Bird's Prayer.
Al Haadiy is a Miraj original.
