What is Alif to Qur'an Part 1 about?
Alif to Qur'an Part 1 is an Islamic video for children aged 4 to 9 that helps them learn the Arabic alphabet through recitation of the Qur'an, from the letter Alif to the letter Taa.
Each letter has its own short scene. Children see and hear the letter, then an Arabic word that begins with it, and often a verse of the Qur'an in which that word appears, beautifully recited. For Jeem the word is jibal, mountains, and for Khaa it is khubz, bread. Daal is for dukhan, smoke, from Surah Ad-Dukhan. Sheen comes with shams, the sun, and the verse from Surah Ya-Sin about the sun running its course. Saad comes with subh, the morning, from Surah At-Takwir, and Daad with dafadi', the frogs that were one of the signs sent to the people of Fir'awn.
In this way, a letter becomes a sound, the sound becomes a word, and the word becomes part of the Qur'an. Children practise the letters and their sounds, learn some Arabic words and their meanings, and hear how the letters they are learning are used in the words of Allah.
This is the first of two parts; Part 2 goes on from Thaa to Ya. The video is about 5 minutes long and music-free, so it works well as a short daily lesson, watched again until the letters feel familiar.
