Who was Prophet Muhammad ﷺ?
The Prophet ﷺ was born in Makkah and grew up an orphan, cared for as a baby by Halima in the desert. People called him Al-Amin, the trustworthy, long before he became a prophet. In the cave of Hira the angel Jibril brought him the first words of the Qur'an, "Read in the name of your Lord who created", and his wife Khadijah comforted him.
On the Hijrah he hid in a cave with Abu Bakr and told him, "Do not grieve, Allah is with us." The people of Madinah came out with joy to meet him. On the Night Journey, Allah took him to Jerusalem and up through the heavens, and he brought back the five daily prayers.
Many titles show his character. He told his companions to return a sparrow's chicks, spoke up for a camel that was starved, shared his food and helped at home. In the Once Upon a Time in Medina videos, animal friends go to see him for themselves. Rhyming picture books tell of the moon that split, the spider's web across the cave and the palm trunk that cried for him. Children can also play a game caring for Al Qaswa, his camel.
