What is Al Khaliq about?
Al Khaliq is an Islamic video for children aged 7 to 9: an animated poem, full of wonder at the universe, about one of the beautiful names of Allah, Al-Khaliq, the Creator.
The poem follows a young girl from evening to morning. As the light fades, she watches the moon glowing like a firefly, so round and bright that she wants to pull it from the night and keep it safe in her pocket. Later, a million stars come out, and she wishes she could shake them from the sky and make a starry pie. In the morning, the sun pours yellow light into her room and seems to call her out to play.
Each time she asks her parents the same question: who made the moon, the stars and the sun? And each time the answer comes back in the chorus. Al-Khaliq made the moon, which glows so creamy white. Al-Khaliq made the sun, which fills our earth with light. Al-Khaliq made the stars, which dance high in the blue. Ya Khaliq, the Creator, made this for me and you.
The chorus repeats, so children soon know it by heart. The poem teaches them that everything beautiful they see in the sky was made by Allah, and that He made it for us. It is part of The Beautiful Names of Allah, a series of animated poems, and is music-free and a Miraj original.
