Who was Prophet Isa (AS)?
Maryam's mother gave her to Allah before she was born, and she grew up in the care of Zakariya (AS). The angel Jibril came to her with news of a pure son. She gave birth under a palm tree, where she was told to shake it for dates and drink from the stream. When people doubted her, baby Isa spoke from the cradle to say that he was Allah's servant and a prophet.
By Allah's permission, Isa made a bird from clay, healed the blind and brought the dead to life. When his companions asked for a table of food from the sky, he made dua and Allah sent it down. The Qur'an says he was not killed or crucified: Allah raised him up to Himself, and the Prophet ﷺ said he will come down again as a just ruler.
