What's inside the pack?
This free mosque activity pack helps a child aged 4 to 7 get to know the mosque through colouring, building and matching. Its pictures come from Build a Mosque, a puzzle game in the Miraj Stories app.
What's in the pack
The pack is six A4 pages, ready to print:
- Build a Mosque. Colour and cut out the pieces of a mosque: the dome, two minarets, the walls, the door, the windows and a crescent.
- Build your mosque. An outline to stick the pieces on. Can your child work out where each piece goes?
- Design two prayer mats. Two empty prayer mats to fill with a pattern of stars, crescents, flowers and leaves: one for your child, and one for someone they love.
- Match the mosque objects. Match each word to its picture: minaret, dome, prayer mat, minbar, tasbih and Qur'an stand.
- A little guidance for grown-ups. Five tips for using the pages (below).
How to use the pack
- Ask your child what they notice in each picture.
- Name the mosque objects together.
- Talk about how we dress and behave when visiting a mosque.
- Do the activities over several short sessions.
- Focus on curiosity and familiarity rather than perfect answers.

Frequently asked questions
What age is the mosque activity pack for?
Children aged 4 to 7. Younger children need a grown-up's help with the cutting; older ones can build and match on their own.
What do I need to print it?
A printer, A4 or US Letter paper, scissors, glue and colouring pencils. Thicker paper or card makes the mosque pieces easier to handle.
Is it a good activity before a first mosque visit?
Yes. Naming the minaret, dome, minbar and prayer mat together, and talking about how we dress and behave in a mosque, helps a child feel at home on their first visit.
Can I use the pack in my class or madrasah?
Yes. The pack is free for personal and classroom use. Print as many copies as your class needs.
