Children's Privacy Policy

This Children’s Privacy Policy describes how Sidra Media Ltd collects, protects, and uses the personally identifiable information of children under 13 that may be collected through the Miraj Stories Mobile Application, Website, and any of its products or services. It also describes the choices available to you as a parent or guardian regarding our use of your child’s personal information, and how you can access, update, or request deletion of this information.

This Policy should be read alongside our main Privacy Policy, which covers the collection and use of information relating to parent and guardian accounts more broadly. This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies we do not own or control, or to individuals we do not employ or manage.

We take the privacy of children seriously. Our service is designed to be used by children under the supervision and with the consent of a parent or guardian, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental involvement.

One or more Child Profiles are created as part of setting up an account or subscribing to the Miraj Stories Mobile Application. Parent or guardian accounts are created using an email address, and all Child Profiles are associated with and managed through that parent account.

By creating a Child Profile, you as the parent or guardian are confirming that you have the authority to provide the information requested on behalf of your child, and that you consent to the collection and use of your child’s information as described in this Policy.

Profile
When setting up a Child Profile, we ask for the child’s name or nickname and a general age range, selected from three options: 3+, 6+, and 9+. We do not collect a precise date of birth.

App Usage
We collect information about how the Mobile Application is used, including but not limited to what content is played, which features of the app are accessed, how frequently and for how long. No usage data is linked to a named child individually. App usage is tracked at the parent account level, we are unable to attribute specific events to a particular child or to distinguish between activity generated by a child or a parent.

Device

When you open the Mobile Application or Website, our servers automatically record information that your device sends. This data may include information such as your device’s IP address and location, device name, model and version, operating system type and version, language preferences, information you search for in our Mobile Application or Website, access times and dates, and other statistics.

To provide and personalise our service.
Profile information and app usage is used to personalise the experience for each child, such as displaying saved preferences, tracking progress, and unlocking content, avatars, or rewards based on activity. We do not use your child’s name, nickname, age range, or any profile information for marketing purposes of any kind, including our own marketing communications.

To improve our services.
Usage and device information helps us understand how our Mobile Application is used, identify popular content, improve features, and diagnose technical issues.

To provide customer support.
If you contact us for assistance, we may use profile and device information to help resolve your query, including updating or deleting a Child Profile at your request, or diagnosing issues you or your child may be experiencing in the app.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your children’s information to third parties.

We may share your children’s information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our Mobile Application, Website and Services. These third-party service providers only receive the information necessary to perform their functions and are expected to process it in accordance with their own privacy policies. These may include analytics, infrastructure and backend service providers.

We retain your child’s information for as long as is necessary to provide our services and for the purposes described in this Policy.

Child profile data is stored as part of the parent account and is deleted when the parent account is deleted. You may do so at any time using the Delete Account option within the Mobile Application. Some information, such as usage data, may be retained for longer periods in order to analyse trends, improve our services, and maintain historical records of application performance. You can request full deletion of your child’s data, including analytics records, by contacting us directly.

We secure children information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use, or disclosure. We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards in an effort to protect against unauthorised access, use, modification, and disclosure of personal information in its control and custody.

However, no data transmission over the Internet or wireless network can be guaranteed. Therefore, while we strive to protect your child’s information, you acknowledge that (i) there are security and privacy limitations of the Internet that are beyond our control; (ii) the security, integrity, and privacy of any and all information and data exchanged between you and our Mobile Application or Website cannot be guaranteed; and (iii) any such information and data may be viewed or tampered within transit by a third party, despite best efforts.

We have an obligation to contact and notify you in the event of data breach, and we will adhere with this obligation to contact you in the unlikely event that such a breach should occur.

We will disclose any child’s information we collect, use or receive if required or permitted by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or court order, or similar legal process or to respond to any complaint or claim, and when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

In the event of a business transition, such as a merger or acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your user account and all associated children’s information will be among the assets transferred, but you will be made aware of this prior to transfer and will have the opportunity to request deletion of your children’s data prior to the transfer.

We reserve the right to modify this Children’s Privacy Policy relating to the Mobile Application, Website or Services at any time, effective upon posting of an updated version of this Policy in the Mobile Application or Website. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. Continued use of the Mobile Application or Website after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes.

As a parent or guardian, you have the right to review, update, or request deletion of your child’s personal information at any time. You may do this in the following ways:

You may update Child Profile information, including name or nickname and age range, or delete individual Child Profiles directly within the Mobile Application at any time. You may delete your parent or guardian account entirely through the Delete Account option within the Mobile Application which will permanently remove all associated Child Profiles and the personal information contained within them. Where such a request would render a contract you otherwise have agreed with us for the supply of a product or service, then the implications of cancellation will be made aware to you at the time of you requesting such deletion.

App usage metrics associated with your account are retained as described above but do not identify individual children. If you wish to request deletion of app usage metrics specifically, you may do so by contacting us directly.

You acknowledge that you have read this Policy and agree to all its terms and conditions. By using the Mobile Application, Website or its Services, you agree to be bound by this Policy. If you do not agree to abide by the terms of this Policy, you are not authorised to use or access the Mobile Application, Website and its Services.
